Health For Pregnancy: Pregnancy Concerns
When you find out you are going to soon become a mother you are normally filled with many emotions. You might be overjoyed, anxious, scared and even nervous. All of these are completely normal for every woman. Many questions are probably running through your head, both good and bad. Any questions or concerns you might have should be jotted down and discussed with your prenatal care provider. There are some things that you should be aware of during your pregnancy, regardless of how many children you already have.
A very important thing you should contact your prenatal care provider about is spotting. This can be a serious issue in many cases. However, sometimes a physician might find there is no need to be alarmed. Any type of vaginal bleeding should immediately be reported to you OB/GYN or other medical professional. This can often be a sign of fetal distress, miscarriage or infection. These are things that will need to be ruled out , to give you piece of mind.
Stomach pain should also raise some concern. This can also be cramping, sometimes not the easiest thing for you to determine. Your body is going to feel different because you are pregnant. However, if you think you should be concerned with a pain call your doctor. He or she is there to help you keep your piece of mind during your pregnancy and help you and your child to be healthy. Do not be embarrassed if you were just had Braxton hicks contractions or even gas. It is better to report any issue you are unsure of than to not report them.
Any leakage coming from your vagina should also be called in to your prenatal care provider especially if it is a fast gush. This could be your water, and it has broken or is leaking. However, sometimes if a baby moves just the right way you can leak urine. Either way call your doctor or go to the emergency room to be on the safe side.
Keeping yourself hydrated can sometimes be quite a task during pregnancy. This is very true during the hot summer months and if you have experienced a lot of morning sickness. If you feel dizzy, look pale or have dry mouth you could be dehydrated. It is very important you become hydrated again. It is possible for dehydrated mom-to-be's to go into premature labor. Notify your doctor of your concern and he or she will explain what you should do.
It is common among pregnant women to have a urinary tract infection, or UTI. However, even though it is common it should still be taken care of immediately. If you are having burning sensations while urinating or pain you should notify you doctor. He or she might prescribe a medication or suggest drinking cranberry juice.
During pregnancy you are going to experience many different things. Such as fetal movement, hormone changes and even just insecurities. This is also a very exciting time, and you should enjoy it without being overly concerned.
